What may be seen
Translucent dragons may show very dark eyes, while other animals retain visible iris colour or display different appearances between the eyes. Lighting, pupil size and age can change what a photograph seems to show.
One dark eye and one lighter eye, partial darkening or unusual iris colour should be recorded accurately rather than forced into a new morph label.
Evidence limit
Do not overinterpret it
There is little peer-reviewed work connecting the full range of captive eye appearances with specific commercial morph genes or health outcomes.
If an eye changes suddenly, becomes cloudy, swollen, injured or functionally abnormal, that is a health issue—not simply an interesting genetic feature—and requires veterinary assessment.
