Buying and waiting lists
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the practical questions people ask before joining the list or purchasing a dragon.
01Does joining the waiting list reserve a dragon?
No. It is a free expression of interest. Fusion contacts people when a suitable dragon becomes available, but joining does not guarantee an animal, sex, colour, price or release date. A specific dragon is secured only after Fusion accepts the purchase details and receives full payment. See the waiting list.
02I contacted Fusion before the form opened. Can that count?
Yes. When it opens, the waiting-list form will let you enter the date you first contacted Fusion and upload a screenshot of that message. Fusion can take that earlier contact into account when considering the list. It does not automatically reserve a place or a dragon.
03Do I need a wildlife licence before joining?
You do not need one simply to enquire or join the waiting list. You must meet the licensing requirements that apply where the dragon will live when one is offered and before purchase. The order form will ask for a licence upload except for buyers in South Australia and the Northern Territory. You are responsible for checking your destination’s requirements.
04When do dragons appear on Available Dragons?
Fusion first offers suitable dragons to people on the relevant waiting list. Any remaining dragons may then be listed on the Available Dragons page or Fusion’s official Facebook page. The same order form will apply whether your dragon was offered from the list or chosen from a public listing.
05Can I pay a deposit or use a payment plan?
No. Fusion does not take deposits or offer payment plans. Completing the order form does not hold the animal. Fusion reviews your information, confirms that the sale can proceed, then requests full payment to secure that specific dragon.
06When can a baby come home?
Fusion does not release a baby before eight weeks of age. It must also be feeding, developing and individually ready. A baby paid for earlier stays with Fusion until it is ready.
07Where can I collect my dragon?
Pickup is by appointment from Hoppers Crossing in Melbourne’s west. Bring a secure, ventilated container suitable for the trip home. Read the buying process.
08Can you freight to my nearest airport?
Fusion can arrange live-animal freight through Tail Travel to eligible Australian airports where suitable Qantas, Virgin Australia or affiliated services accept it. Not every airport can receive pet freight. Availability, the destination and the charge are confirmed for your order. Freight is normally arranged for Friday when a suitable flight is available. Fusion does not sell or freight to Western Australia or Tasmania. How freight works.
09What if I cannot collect from the airport?
Tail Travel may be able to arrange an agent to collect the dragon and deliver it to your residence for an additional charge set by Tail Travel or its agent. This service is subject to availability. The additional live arrival guarantee does not apply to agent delivery, because Fusion cannot verify handling after airport collection. Your other legal rights are unaffected. See sections 8 and 9 of the Terms.
10What happens after the flight arrives?
Follow the collection instructions in Tail Travel’s email, including checking your junk folder. The buyer or authorised collector must collect within 60 minutes of the collection time stated there and inspect the dragon immediately. Contact Fusion immediately if there is a serious transport concern. The full reporting steps for the additional live arrival guarantee are in the Terms.
11How does the three-month health guarantee work?
It is Fusion’s additional voluntary goodwill promise to the original direct buyer. It starts when you receive the dragon and depends on following the Care Sheet or Care Guide recorded with your purchase. If you suspect a problem, contact Fusion immediately and be ready to provide photos, temperatures, lighting and equipment details. Do not delay urgent veterinary care. Read section 10 of the Terms and Conditions for the full claim process and conditions.
12What if my collection date changes?
If you cannot collect or proceed with agreed freight when the dragon is ready, Fusion allows one week from the agreed date without a holding charge. After that, a $20 per week care and holding charge applies proportionately until collection or dispatch. A separate change-of-mind cancellation charge may apply after form acceptance and full payment; the two charges are not added together for the same period. See clauses 5.4–5.6 of the Terms.
