What commonly changes
Heads broaden, bodies become heavier and limbs change in proportion. Pattern edges may soften, tiger barring may strengthen or fade, and colour can deepen, spread or become less intense through successive sheds.
Some morph-related features are strongest in hatchlings and change with age. Translucent skin appearance is one familiar example.
Evidence limit
Growth rate is not the same as quality
Rapid size gain can reflect heavy feeding, but the largest juvenile is not automatically the healthiest or genetically superior animal.
A meaningful assessment considers steady development, body condition, structure, behaviour and the history of the line—not weight or colour alone.
